This struck me as a very useful addition, as we draw closer to the elections. It could help me find election dates, deadlines, and locations for a patron, as well as help the patron get educated on the issues.
I did get 100% on the quiz.

This will be a great resource for our patrons! It looks to me like it would be fairly simple to build an impressive application and resume on this lite, and the fact that you can attach a portfolio is awesome! I will recommend it to the job-hunting patrons!
I have been familiar with File/Print Preview for some time, of course, and have used it often to determine how items will print. But I was glad to discover Print Friendly. I went to gjsentinel.com and printed an obituary for James Quintana, who is the husband of a Palisade library volunteer, Sheila Quintana. Unfortunately, he died of a heart attack at 43. I used the Print Friendly tools to take out pictures and extra text.
This is a great website to know about, and I can see recommending it to patrons to reduce the amount of pages they have to print and pay for.
I think this is a great resource for our patrons. On a whim I decided to take the basic EMT assessment. It consisted of 150 really serious questions, and I scored 34%, having had no EMT training!
I was pleased with the instant scoring results, and the fact that the correct answers were immediately available for positive reinforcement.
After a few tries, I finally downloaded an Overdrive ebook, Global Access Spanish Basic Conversation to my home computer. I am not seeing as many non-fiction titles as I would like, but it is a great resource none the less.
I got a score of 90% on the quiz, but missed one because Eve’s phone extension is listed now as 551, none of the choices-Iassume it changed.
I did think it was helpful to look at different areas of the wiki. While I was there I reviewed the new wellness benefits, which are a great thing for us as employees. Thanks to management for offering us wellness incentive!
I already completed the TinyURL section.
Zamzar. com will be extremely useful with library patrons, and I will use it frequently myself. We have all been in the position of not having a quick way to convert file format.
I did go on MCPLD’s site at delicious.com. I visited the CLIC site, PLA, and Infopeople.org. The CLIC site had vital continuing information for library professionals and staff. What I like about PLA was the information on scholarshipe that they offer, and Book Club Buzz, where they name the recipients of their Edgar Awards for best new books. That is very handy for me, since I moderate the Clifton Book Club. I also went to Infopeople.org and saw that I could attend a webinar on library behavior code-I could pass on that!
Open Office is downloading to my home computer as we speak. I’m glad to find this tool, since you say, Nancy, that it is compatable with Office. Before I just had Microsoft Works on my home computer and was hesitant to pay out the money to buy Microsoft Office.
The entire principle behind the concept of a library is shared information, so shared web tools are a marvelous thing.
I did install Clipmarks to Internet Explorer and had fun using it. It’s amazing to discover some of the web tools available!
